October 2026 Interclub Fishing Competition
River Heads takes the win again — back-to-back Interclub Champions!
River Heads Fishing Club had a fantastic result at the 2026 Interclub Fishing Competition, competing alongside Toogoom Fishing Club, Hervey Bay Amateur Fishing Club and the Boat Club with River Heads finishing as the overall winners for the second year running!
Our juniors also had a brilliant result, with Tori taking 1st place for Junior Total Bag Points and Ryan finishing runner-up.

September 2026 Fish Meet
The September Fish Meet was another great weekend on the water, with Rick taking out the Men’s, Ngarra the Ladies’ and William Sayers the Juniors, while Kristin claimed the Secret Length. A special highlight was Indy Sayers landing her first fish and scoring herself a brand-new Daiwa combo! Our juniors also got creative with the Junior Lure Painting & Catching Competition, painting their own lures before putting them to the ultimate test — catching a fish with their own creation.
August 2026 Fish Meet
Beautiful weather saw members travelling far and wide for the August Fish Meet, with some fantastic catches making their way onto the scoreboard. The standout belonged to our juniors, with brothers Harley and Will Sayers both breaking the Junior Mac Tuna Club Record within minutes of each other — Will ultimately taking the record with an incredible 83cm Mac Tuna, also tying the Senior Club Record! The afternoon wrapped up with plenty of laughs during our Junior Raft Challenge, where every spaghetti-and-marshmallow creation somehow managed to float!
July 2026 Fish Meet
July was a huge month for the club, with the Hervey Bay Fishing Classic, our Christmas in July trip away and another fantastic monthly Fish Meet all packed into a few busy weeks. The July weigh-in brought another great selection of catches, along with plenty of fishing, friendship and good times throughout the month.
June 2026 Fish Meet
The June Fish Meet delivered one of our biggest weigh-ins yet, with an impressive lineup of catches making it onto the big screen. Winter certainly didn’t slow the fishing down, with some fantastic results across all categories — including Ari Moody landing an incredible 66cm Blue Salmon on fly.
May 2026 Fish Meet
The May Fish Meet brought some challenging conditions, with strong winds and big tides making members work hard for their catches. Despite the weather, there was still a great lineup of fish recorded at the Sunday weigh-in, including a new Junior Club Record for Lucas Henderson with a 54cm Cod. 
April 2026 Fish Meet
After a few tough months, the weather finally turned it on, glassy conditions, blue skies and some magic days on the water, with a few cheeky swells to keep things interesting.
The fishing absolutely delivered, with 50+ fish hitting the big screen and a stacked mix across both Juniors and Seniors. Flathead, Queenfish, Mackerel, Tuskies, Trevally, Cod and even a Barra made an appearance.
April 2026 Club Trip to Boondooma Dam
Our first club trip away for 2026 at Boondooma Dam definitely didn’t disappoint. Firepits going as the sun dropped, lines in the water chasing that next big one, and fresh red claw straight from the pots to the plate (the homemade pasta was next level). Cold beers, plenty of laughs, and the kind of stories that somehow get better as the night goes on. But more than anything, it’s the people. This club is about more than fishing, it’s the community, the good times, and those moments you wish you could bottle up.
From first light to the last glow of the fire, it was a bloody good weekend. Already looking forward to the next one
March 2026 Fish Meet
Despite some wild weather, members still managed to land some impressive catches during the March Fish Meet. The weigh-in was followed by the always entertaining River Heads Cup Mud Crab Races, which proved to be a big hit with members and spectators alike.
